The rail bridge at Cottingham Road near Corby's Old Village re-opened to traffic on Friday ( Oct 19 ).

Work to modify the bridge so it can accept electrification masts has been going on since the start of the year, and a projected completion has been put back twice in recent months.

Small business owners in the nearby Old Village have complained that the closure has put people off visiting the area and affected their trade.

It's understood Network Rail would be willing to consider individual bids for compensation from firms on a case-by-case basis.
