NHS Corby have today ( Sep 20 ) confirmed they have reached a deal with the operator of the Corby Urgent Care Centre to keep the centre open.
In a statement, the clinical commissioning group for the area say the deal will keep the centre going beyond an original contract deadline of September the 30th - through to March 2019.
However both parties can give only four months notice to terminate the contract if needs be before that date.
The statement adds that "both parties are seeking a period of stability to enable further consultation with staff, patients and the public about the future shape of services locally".
The news has been welcomed by the MP for Corby who last week handed in a petition about the Urgent Care Centre at Parliament, that was compiled by independent campaign group "Save Our UCC".
