100 jobs are being promised with the development of a new industrial bakery in Corby.

The William Jackson Food Group have laid out plans for a second bread plant to go with their original site at Hull. They say the Corby plant would make bread for sandwich manafacturers and foodservice customers.

Genner Road and the previous site of Golden West Foods is where the new development is set to be built with a view to beginning production next summer.

It's reported some £40m is being invested in the plant - by a company responsible for two-thirds of the bread used in the UK's prepared sandwiches.
