Cllr Mohammed Rahman has been installed as the new Mayor of Corby at the Borough Council’s Annual Council meeting held on Thursday evening ( May 24 ). 

Cllr Rahman took the position from Cllr Matt Keane, the youngest ever Corby Mayor. It's Cllr Rahman’s second time in office and he will now be Mayor of Corby for the next year. Cllr Lawrence Ferguson was confirmed as the new Deputy Mayor.

Cllr Keane told Corby Radio he had thoroughly enjoyed his year as Mayor, and some £3,000 had been raised for his chosen charities - the mental health cause Stages and the youth club Tribes.

Cllr Rahman's chosen causes for his term are Maplefields Circle of Friends and the Royal British Legion.
