A better second half display on Tuesday evening from Corby Town was not quite enough as their second league game of the new season ended in a loss.

Spalding United scored either side of half-time before a deflected free-kick from Ollie Brown-Hill brought Corby back into the game late on.

2-1 to the Lincolnshire side is how it stayed and the attention of manager David Bell and his team now turns to their FA Cup tie at Dereham this Saturday.

David Bell's side won their opening game in the Evo-Stik North Division One South on Saturday ( Aug 12 ).

An early goal was an indication of Corby's dominance to come as Romulus were beaten 5-1 in front of 402 fans.

Sam Mulready (2), Kern Miller, Jack McGovern and Jordan Crawford were the Steelmen scorers.

In UCL Divison One S & L Corby lost 4-3 at home to Bugbrooke St Michaels - the Foundrymen had lost 10-0 the previous Saturday.

Jul 28 - Four well-known players from the world of Darts turned out for "Clash of the Titans 2" -a exhibition night of darts entertainment held at Corby's Grampian Club and supported by Holsten Vier.

Proceeds went back into Corby Radio as part of our "50-50" funding regulations.

On the night former BDO World Champions Martin "Wolfie" Adams, Ted Hankey, Steve Beaton and current BDO Womens World Champion Lisa Ashton wowed darts fans with a night of skill and fun that included taking on members of the crowd, the Corby Radio team and each other!

In fact the "A-Team" of Corby Radio ( Des Barber, Craig Barber, Lyndon Batchelor & Stewart McNeill ) emerged triumphant in their fours match as Des hit a winning double 15 (following some suprising misses from the professionals ! ).

In the match-up between the Darts stars Martin Adams won the final beating Ted Hankey 3-0 despite "The Count" delivering a 180.

Corby Radio would like to thank everyone who supported the evening !
